ReplyDeleteI gave 'The House At The End of the Street a 'Rent It' or 'Stream It', I forget which one. I felt it that I didn't know what was going to happen up until the last third when it was revealed that the boy was a killer. I knew this movie was going to be #1 when I saw all of those young couples and groups of young women pack the theater at 10:30 at night. The screening for 'Dredd' wasn't even half full.
ReplyDeleteJennifer Lawrence has star power. She's magnetic. Max Theiriot's acting was horrible, and so was the message of the movie, which seemed to be: "If someone doesn't conform to society and seems offbeat or weird, then they are probably a serial killer. The jerks and bullies are right to pick on weirdos and the liberals (the Sheriff) will end up getting stabbed to death by the people they are trying to save."
'Dredd' was off the chain, but do you have any theories as to why it didn't do well at the box office?
